The occupation of the Constitutional Court is complete; as of today, all nine judges are “zonders” (regime enforcers). Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, writes on social media in response to the appointment of Sergo Metopishvili as a Constitutional Court judge.
"The occupation of the Constitutional Court is complete. Today, the Supreme Court filled the final vacancy by appointing Sergo Metopishvili—one of the most notorious enforcers of the 'clan'—as a judge. Believe me, you would struggle to find anyone worse, even within that clan.
From this day forward, all nine judges are regime enforcers. There won't even be dissenting opinions anymore. Is it clear now why the Georgian Dream added those specific parties to the lawsuit seeking the cancellation of political parties? They dragged out the deliberation process until there was no longer even a single dissenting voice on the panel, ensuring that granting this 1,000% unconstitutional absurdity would not cause the slightest discomfort for the 'enforcer' judges. It seems that, for the Georgian Dream camp, a unanimous decision carries a different kind of weight," Gvaramia writes on social media.
