Heads of the State Security Service are replaced one after another to serve Bidzina Ivanishvili’s personal interests, and employees are taking their own lives: in 2026, Simon Tsakadze, the head of the Anti-Corruption Agency, committed suicide; in 2026, an employee took his own life in Khashuri; in 2025, another employee did so in Chakvi, and yet another inside an State Security Service building; and in 2026, Davit Gogiberishvili, the former warden of Gldani Prison, took his own life under unclear circumstances, - Ana Tsitlidze, a leader of the United National Movement, stated at the briefing held outside the State Security Service headquarters.

She addressed the State Security Service officers, stating that they bear responsibility for the silence surrounding the "unexplained deaths" of their colleagues.

"You must realize that Bidzina Ivanishvili has stripped you of your professional dignity and turned you into servants of his own personal interests," Tsitlidze told them.

"Bidzina Ivanishvili’s rule has brought Georgia drugs and the young lives lost to them, rampant crime, 17- and 18-year-old Georgians gunned down in the streets, murders, and unexplained suicides. In the system created by Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian citizens fear not only the crime reigning on the streets but also the very state institutions that are supposed to protect their safety. When heads of the State Security Service are replaced in rapid succession, or when employees are taking their own lives —for instance, in 2026, Simon Tsakadze, the head of the Anti-Corruption Agency, committed suicide; in 2026, an employee took his own life in Khashuri; in 2025, another employee did so in Chakvi, and yet another inside an State Security Service building; and in 2026, Davit Gogiberishvili, the former warden of Gldani Prison, took his own life under unclear circumstances. This raises the key question: what is happening within this closed system and inside these buildings that drives people to suicide? What kind of sordid orders does Bidzina Ivanishvili issue that people cannot bear the burden and are driven to take their own lives? The State Security Service statement regarding one of the employees—claiming he committed suicide due to depression following bariatric surgery—is an insult to every single employee of the Service and to the public. Today, I wish to address the State Security Service employees in this building: you are citizens of Georgia, and your silence—as well as your participation in the liquidation of those involved in the Kodori special operations—is a matter for which each of you bears responsibility. You bear responsibility for your silence regarding the unexplained deaths of your colleagues; you must realize that Bidzina Ivanishvili has stripped you of your professional dignity and turned you into servants of his own personal interests; you must realize that Bidzina Ivanishvili is killing your friends, your colleagues, and the citizens of Georgia, and your silence facilitates all of this," stated Ana Tsitlidze.
