According to Kupradze, “Strong Georgia - Lelo” will continue its campaign until the project agreement and its terms are made public.

“We are now in the heart of the unique Gonio area, where one year ago Bidzina Ivanishvili and the anti-Georgian ‘Georgian Dream’ announced that this unique Georgian territory and the Krtsanisi Forest Park - 590 hectares in Krtsanisi and 260 hectares in Gonio - would be transferred to an Arab company.

Among other things, a representative, head and director of the Arab company stated that the price per square meter in the development would range from $5,000 to $12,000. No average Georgian citizen will be able to purchase any property either in Gonio, in the Arab cities, or in the Krtsanisi Forest Park.

This means that the overwhelming majority of this territory will be acquired by foreign citizens. At a time when the propaganda and activities of the anti-Georgian, non-Georgian ‘Georgian Dream’ have created a demographic crisis in Georgia, Georgia is being emptied of its citizens while foreign nationals are arriving. There is a particularly severe crisis in Batumi due to the arrival and settlement of Russian citizens. The balance between Georgians and foreign citizens in Georgia is changing altogether.

Under these circumstances, the emergence of two Arab enclaves in the two major cities, Batumi and Tbilisi — in the Krtsanisi Forest Park and Gonio - is a crime against Georgia’s security and economy, because this is not economic development.

At a time when the Georgian state is investing property of unique importance and extremely high economic value into projects that are presented as investments without receiving any real income and without proper justification - projects that did not work in Hungary or in various other countries because of corruption risks and a lack of prospects - this is a corrupt project.

This is further confirmed by the fact that the anti-Georgian ‘Georgian Dream’ has kept secret the agreement concerning the construction of Arab enclaves both in Gonio and in the Krtsanisi Forest Park.

If the anti-Georgian ‘Georgian Dream’ has nothing to hide, why is it keeping secret an agreement that presumably contains such burdensome obligations for the state that they completely rule out the possibility of an adequate, national Georgian decision in this deal?

You cannot irresponsibly dispose of enormous territories that should, on the contrary, constitute a major national interest in terms of the border, economy, demographics and national security.
