On the anniversary of the fall of Sokhumi, Mikheil Kavelashvili laid a wreath at the memorial to the heroes who died for Georgia's unity.

According to the Administration of the President of Georgia, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, the Mayor of Tbilisi, representatives of the executive and legislative branches, and family members of those who were killed in the war were present at the memorial alongside the President.

Mikheil Kavelashvili paid tribute to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for Georgia's unity and freedom.

"We remember every single person who sacrificed their life for Georgia. It is our duty to their memory to cherish peace and not lose faith that our country will inevitably be reunified," stated Mikheil Kavelashvili.

According to the President of Georgia, the memory of this day places a responsibility on the country to continue its path toward the reunification of Georgia through a peaceful and consistent state policy, to maintain peace, and to strengthen the state.
