Giga Parulava: It is clear that Levan Machavariani was given and made to publish this particular statement - if he wrote it himself, then his health is truly a matter of concern, and I wish him to seek appropriate medical assistance promptly

“It is clear that Levan Machavariani was given and made to publish this particular statement - if he wrote it himself, then his health is truly a matter of concern, and I wish him to seek appropriate medical assistance promptly,” Giga Parulava, a lawmaker from the Gakharia for Georgia party, said in response to the statement published by Georgian Dream MP Levan Machavariani.

According to him, what Levan Machavariani published is “a barrage of nonsense.”

“This is the barrage of nonsense that society has seen and read. It is clear that Machavariani was given this particular statement and made to publish it. They are trying to launch a media propaganda campaign with it. If he wrote it himself, then his health is truly a matter of concern, and I wish him to seek appropriate medical assistance promptly.

“As for the absurd nonsense and accusations contained in the letter, they should look within their own team: whom are they talking about as ‘UNM members’ or about October 4, when their political team - both former and current members - is full of ‘UNM members’? He also talks about LGBT propaganda in his epistle or letter. They should look around and look into their own hearts: they have the largest number of representatives of the LGBT community or advocates of LGBT propaganda within their own team.

“As for October 4, they themselves planned it. Not only we, but Mamuka Mdinaradze himself spoke about this several months ago, when he explained on Imedi’s live broadcast how they managed the provocative and revolutionary scenarios of October 4.

“Therefore, they should stop writing these letters and get on with their work,” Giga Parulava said.

For reference, Georgian Dream MP Levan Machavariani published a letter on social media in which, along with other opposition parties, he discussed Gakharia’s team.

“After foreign forces became convinced that it was impossible to whitewash the bloody past of the United National Movement itself, and after they lost every election to the Georgian people by betting solely on them, they artificially created several new parties. Gakharia’s party is one such example. He was brought back into politics when, through Charles Michel’s mediation, a 43% threshold was set for the 2021 elections. According to the undisclosed message, it was supposedly Bidzina Ivanishvili’s political project. He was spreading precisely this message among Georgian Dream supporters. The calculation of external forces was that, through this message, Gakharia would draw away our voters and prevent us from crossing the threshold.

“When, following the 2021 elections, Gakharia openly and without concealment formed coalitions with the ‘UNM’ in four municipalities, his ‘collective UNM affiliation’ became so apparent that his foreign patrons had to radically change something. For the crucial 2024 elections, another reshuffling of the agents’ configuration began. Lelo and Gakharia’s party were to be distanced as much as possible from the ‘collective UNM,’ and they were supposed to attract so-called neutral and undecided voters. At the same time, the ‘UNM’ and its direct affiliates were supposed to work with radical voters, Lelo’s segment was supposed to consist of ‘semi-radicals,’ while Gakharia’s party was supposed to position itself as a ‘supposedly constructive’ force,” Levan Machavariani wrote.
