Gela Khasaia, a member of Girchi - More Freedom, will leave the penitentiary institution today.
For reference, the Prosecutor’s Office accused Gela Khasaia of intentionally causing less serious bodily injury to Ramaz Chaduneli, together with Vasil Kerdikoshvili and as part of a group, in the vicinity of Tamar Mepe Avenue in Tbilisi on September 1, 2025.
Law enforcement officers arrested the defendants on September 29. They were charged under Article 118, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia - intentional infliction of less serious bodily injury committed by a group - which carries a prison sentence of four to six years.
Later, Gela Khasaia of Girchi - More Freedom and Vasil Kerdikoshvili, who was arrested together with him, reached plea agreements with the prosecution. Judge Irakli Khuskivadze found both individuals guilty and approved the agreement reached between the parties.
Under the plea agreement, both men were sentenced to one year of actual imprisonment and three years of suspended imprisonment. The one-year term expires tomorrow, September 29.
