Students and parents hold a protest outside Tbilisi Public School No. 166

Students and parents are holding a protest outside Tbilisi Public School No. 166. According to them, this is the third year that students have had to attend classes at other schools.

Parents say that, based on a report by the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, the school is subject to rehabilitation, but the work has not yet begun.

They are demanding that the school be rehabilitated or that an alternative facility be found where students of Public School No. 166 can continue their education together in one location.

The children are holding banners reading: “Don’t separate us into different buildings, give us back our school!” “Give me back my school and classroom!” and “Don’t destroy our school!”

“As far as we know, according to the initial expert assessment, our school was assigned a Category 2–3 classification, which means that it could be restored rather than demolished. Based on this assessment, we demand that the school be rehabilitated immediately and that the educational process return to this school,” one of the parents said.
