Family members of those detained during the protests are holding a rally outside the Public Broadcaster

Family members of those detained during the protests are holding a 24-hour protest outside the Public Broadcaster. Their main demands are to be given airtime on the Public Broadcaster and to meet with its management.

According to the parents of those detained during the protests, they also held a 24-hour protest in June, but “no one paid attention to what they had to say.” Their main demand now is for the public to be provided with accurate information about their children and for the Public Broadcaster to give them airtime.

“We have decided to hold a 24-hour protest outside the Public Broadcaster. We have held various types of protests over the past year, but apparently they produced no results. Accordingly, we had announced that we would hold a 24-hour protest if no positive decision was made, and that is why we are holding a 24-hour protest today.

The demands are the same as before: we definitely want airtime on the Public Broadcaster so that we can provide the public with objective information about our struggle and our children. Before that, we could also meet with the board, the management, and the director. In any case, our main goal is to get into the Public Broadcaster, appear on air, and tell the public the truth,” said Zurab Tsetskhladze, the father of Zviad Tsetskhladze, who was detained during a protest.

Meanwhile, Marina Terishvili, the mother of another person detained during the protests, Giorgi Terishvili, said it was important for the public to know the full truth about their detained children.

“We need airtime on the Public Broadcaster so that we can tell our truth about our children. We also held a 24-hour protest in June, but no one paid attention to what we had to say. Today, we want to hold a 24-hour protest to ask the Public Broadcaster to give us airtime and cover our children’s stories, because our children are sometimes referred to as terrorists and sometimes as shameless people. We want everyone to understand that our children are truly conscientious young men; they are prisoners of conscience. That is why we are demanding airtime on the Public Broadcaster, because this is broadcast everywhere, including in the regions,” said Marina Terishvili, the mother of Giorgi Terishvili, who was detained during a protest.
