Georgians are deeply familiar with the pain of a Russian invasion—this was stated by Barbara Voss, the German Ambassador to Georgia.
According to the German Ambassador, Georgia and Germany share common interests regarding international security and face common threats.
"Russia seeks to destabilize Europe and divide its people through disinformation, threats, sabotage, and aggression. Georgians are intimately familiar with the pain of Russian invasion—with 20% of their territory currently under occupation—and they know that Russia strives not for a balance of power, but for subjugation. Germany remains steadfast in its support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its right to make its own choices regarding its security. We maintain cooperation with the Georgian Defence Forces within the framework of NATO, aiming to further strengthen defensive capabilities against potential aggression and to contribute to security in the South Caucasus and Europe," stated the German Ambassador.
