Kakha Kaladze: The events of October 4 were orchestrated from Europe because they wanted to bring their own agents to power

We heard only encouragement from European institutions regarding the October 4 case, because the attempted coup d'état was funded by them—this is what the capital's mayor, Kakha Kaladze, told journalists.

As he noted, even a year later, there has been no reaction from the relevant European institutions regarding the October 4 case.

"I have not heard any statements [of concern] from European institutions; on the contrary, there was only encouragement, as this entire process was orchestrated by them. The campaign aimed at a coup d'état and revolution was launched with their support and funding. Their primary objective was to overthrow the country's government.

If we look at the processes unfolding within the country in recent years—and where they are being directed from—it becomes evident that they want to install their own agents in power so they can subsequently use the country and the Georgian people to advance their own interests. Unfortunately, this is the reality we face," noted Kakha Kaladze.
