Archil Gorduladze: Without exception, every resolution adopted concerning Georgia in recent times is not even worth the price of the paper on which it could be printed

“Without exception, every resolution adopted concerning Georgia in recent times is not even worth the price of the paper on which it could be printed,” Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, told journalists, commenting on the debate and resolution on Georgia scheduled to be held in the European Parliament.

According to him, this will be another attack on Georgia’s sovereignty.

“Empirical experience shows us that every resolution of the European Parliament - absolutely every resolution adopted concerning Georgia in recent times - is not even worth the price of the paper on which it could be printed.

We have exactly the same expectations regarding the new resolution. This will be another attack on Georgia’s sovereignty by people who are backed by a force that wants Georgia to be used as a proxy state,” Gorduladze said.

For reference, according to the European Parliament’s agenda, a debate titled “Attempts by the ruling party, Georgian Dream, to ban opposition parties in Georgia” will be held on October 7. The debate will begin at 7:00 p.m. local time. Members of the European Parliament will also vote on a resolution on the issue on October 8.
