Paweł Herczyński: What Marta Kos said is regrettable and personally saddens me greatly, but it is the result of the current government's consistent actions, legislation, and anti-European rhetoric

The European Commission's enlargement report will be published in three weeks; the previous report was devastating for Georgia, and the situation has deteriorated even further since then—this was stated by Paweł Herczyński, the EU Ambassador to Georgia, while speaking with the media.
"Unfortunately, the remarks made by Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, are disheartening and personally very saddening to me; however, this is the result of the current government's consistent actions, legislation, and anti-European rhetoric. Regrettably, there are consequences, and regarding the enlargement process, the European Commission will present another enlargement report in three weeks. I will organize another press conference. The High Representative and the European Commissioner responsible for enlargement will hold a press conference in Brussels, so let us wait to see exactly what the message will be.
The last enlargement report, published in November of last year, was unfortunately devastating for Georgia. Over the past year, the situation has not improved; on the contrary, it has deteriorated further regarding fundamental freedoms.
So, let us see what the European Commission's assessment will be in three weeks," stated Herczyński.
