Khatia Dekanoidze: I wouldn’t call this just a Georgian Dream lawsuit seeking to ban political parties—this is Zorkin’s document! Through this document, Ivanishvili and Kobakhidze aim to formalize Russian propaganda within the territory of Georgia.

We do not view the directive issued by Bidzina Ivanishvili and Georgian Dream to the Constitutional Court—which seeks the banning of political parties—merely as the revocation of a registration number or the stripping of specific individuals' right to engage in political activity. We view this as a treacherous lawsuit; we see it as a grave threat to Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and statehood. This statement was made by Khatia Dekanoidze, a leader of the National Movement, during a briefing held near the Government Administration building.

As for whether the National Movement will participate in the proceedings regarding the lawsuit to ban political parties, Dekanoidze noted that the party will issue a separate statement on this matter.

"This lawsuit relies entirely on the findings of Tsulukiani’s treacherous commission; however, it is particularly dangerous because it incorporates two critical factors that align directly with Russia’s demands.

First, it seeks to attribute the 2008 Russian military aggression to the Georgian state itself—a direct Russian demand, which is precisely what has been embedded in this lawsuit. It also addresses Galuzin’s demand—likewise included in the filing—that Georgia sign a document, presented by Russia, regarding the non-use of force; in reality, this would amount to the formal recognition of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. Furthermore, the lawsuit aims to establish that Georgia’s relations with its allies—including the European Union and all its international partners—are unconstitutional. This is outright treason!

I would not characterize this submission to the Constitutional Court merely as a Georgian Dream lawsuit. In truth, this document is, from start to finish, Zorkin’s document! Yes, it is right here in this building—[the Government Administration]—that Kobakhidze, Ivanishvili, and other representatives of Georgian Dream are pursuing an anti-national policy. Through Zorkin’s document, they aim to have Russian propaganda formally established within Georgian territory as a ruling of the Constitutional Court," stated Dekanoidze.

For context, the Constitutional Court is set to begin reviewing a constitutional claim—prepared by Georgian Dream—seeking the banning of opposition parties. The court hearings are scheduled for October 21, 22, and 23.
