Levan Khabeishvili: I categorically demand to be escorted to Batumi—I demand to attend the hearing and tell the traitors exactly what needs to be said

Levan Khabeishvili, the imprisoned Chairman of the Political Council of the United National Movement, is "categorically demanding" to be escorted to Batumi so that he may present his position at the Constitutional Court.

A statement to this effect was shared on Khabeishvili’s Facebook page.

Khabeishvili insists on attending the hearing in order to tell the "traitors" what needs to be said—directly to their faces.

According to the opposition figure, the lawsuit seeking to ban political parties is, in reality, an attempt to put the homeland—Georgia—on trial.

“They are declaring not just political parties, but Antsukhelidze, the Romelashvili brothers, and our heroes to be criminals!!! This is not merely about revoking a party’s registration code! This is putting Merab Kostava’s and Zviad Gamsakhurdia’s Georgia on trial! It is the fulfillment of the 'Commission on Treason' and an act that exonerates Russia—a state of torturers and terrorists!

I hope everyone grasps the gravity of this process; we must not limit ourselves to cowardly, fearful expressions of 'concern'! We are all one in this, and we must translate this into action!!!

In reality, they are putting our homeland—Georgia—on trial! Wake up! The public is deathly silent, and I refuse to believe that we will not fight back against this desecration of our heroes' souls and the effective handover of our independence to the occupier!

Let me state clearly and unequivocally: this is not just about the registry of political parties! Under this heading, Georgia is being accused of aggression; Georgia is being put on trial, its heroes are being charged, while the Russians—who killed our sisters, brothers, and children—are being exonerated! Brothers, we cannot let this pass! They are drafting a document that will ultimately destroy the Georgian state!

I implore you: do not deceive yourselves or people by suggesting that "outsiders" will come to our aid and defeat the regime! That will not happen if we just bow our heads like cowards and respond to everything by saying, "So what?"...

Now is the time to rally around this process—to rally around Georgia—and fight! There is only one "party," and that is Georgia!

As an ordinary citizen, I pledge to support whoever shows true courage for the sake of Georgia today!

In short, I am ready—and I demand—to be present at the proceedings so that I may tell these traitors exactly what needs to be said, right to their faces!

I also hope that thousands of people will simultaneously join the protest in Batumi!

There are no longer any divisions—let everyone finally understand this!

Power lies with people! There is strength in unity!

May God bless Georgia!

P.S. I support the rally announced for October 25! We must take action!" writes Khabeishvili.
