The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, has commented on the ongoing developments surrounding protest rallies in France.
In a post published on social media, Papuashvili states that those who “sow the wind in another country will reap the whirlwind in their own.”
“Neither were these Venetian cartographers, nor were those Egyptian students eager to learn.
What we are witnessing in France these days reminds us that those who sow the wind in another country will reap the whirlwind in their own,” Papuashvili writes, sharing a photograph showing French Ambassador to Georgia Sheraz Gasri alongside activists.
Clashes broke out in France during protests against conditions in schools and the rising cost of living. According to the BBC, at least 1,200 people were arrested. Buildings were set on fire in the capital and other cities, including Limoges, where part of the roof of the city hall collapsed following a fire inside the building.
