The European Union is currently destroying Europe in a civilizational sense. Our objective—and the reason we are critical of the EU—is to save Europe and preserve the civilization that we, too, helped to create. Europe needs to be rescued from Brussels itself and from those at the helm of the EU, lest it plunge irrevocably into a civilizational abyss! With this statement, the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, addressed the demonstrations in France, where unrest and clashes with the police took place in several cities.

According to Papuashvili, this is the consequence of governments in EU member states failing to act in accordance with the national interests of their own people.

Papuashvili further noted that the lack of trust in the authorities has manifested in the violence currently being witnessed on the streets of various European cities.

"This is the result of Brussels’ diktat, which extends even to EU member states, compelling them to act against their own interests—whether in the realm of migration policy or economic policy. The outcome of all these policies is action taken against the interests of the people. Ultimately, this has led to a dissatisfied public. Studies confirm that trust is extremely low—public confidence in the governments of Germany, France, and other leading nations hovers around just 10%. This lack of trust has manifested as the violence we are witnessing on the streets of various European cities.

When we say that Brussels is driving Europe toward a civilizational abyss, we can see exactly what that abyss looks like in Paris—where not only buildings but also historical and cultural heritage sites are being set ablaze. We are seeing, quite literally, what Europe’s civilizational abyss entails!" stated Shalva Papuashvili.
