It is crucial to use the right terminology - with precise meaning - to evaluate the constitutional lawsuit set to be heard in two days. This is a process of betrayal, Elene Khoshtaria, leader of the Droa movement, writes in a letter sent from prison.
Furthermore, in the same letter, Elene Khoshtaria thanks journalist Vakho Sanaia for "shaking the system" and expresses her support for his family.
"A process of betrayal! It is vital to use the correct terminology—with precise meaning—to assess the constitutional lawsuit that will begin to be heard in two days. Words have power! Replacing a precise meaning with a false one is a hallmark of Russian propaganda. Therefore, there is no other name for it—this is a process of betrayal.
The aggression and occupation directed against our own country are being framed as accusations against our own state.
For example, consider this quote: 'In 2004, an armed confrontation took place in the direction of the city of Tskhinvali.'" “In 2007, the then-authorities of Georgia established a temporary administrative-territorial unit within the territory of the former South Ossetian Autonomous Oblast, introduced state governance, and set up an administration for this unit. In doing so, the Georgian authorities at the time legally restored the boundaries of the South Ossetian Autonomous Oblast—boundaries that had been abolished in 1990.”
“The culmination of these events occurred in August 2008, when the then-authorities of Georgia paved the way for the occupying force to enter the Tskhinvali region…”
Friends (the West) are being portrayed as enemies;
Criticism of Russian policy is met with punishment;
Defending Ukraine’s position is met with punishment;
For example: “Furthermore, the Ukrainian authorities expressed dissatisfaction with the Georgian government and attacked it through public statements. Moreover, in July 2023, the Ukrainian authorities compelled the Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine to leave the country. Once again, unconstitutional political parties refrained from directly, clearly, and immediately distancing themselves from these developments.” Political struggle is prohibited;
The Soviet one-party system is being codified into law;
These are the facts presented in this constitutional lawsuit. Consequently, there is only one name for this: a process of betrayal!
P.S. Many thanks to Vakho Sanaia for shaking up the system, and my support goes out to his family—especially to my friend Sani,” reads the letter from Elene Khoshtaria.
