Relations with our partners are important at every stage, and they are especially important when the plan to destroy Georgian statehood is to be brought to completion — this is what they want in the Kremlin, and of course Ivanishvili wants this as well. The main topic at the meeting cannot fail to be what is happening in the country — the destruction of democracy, — Irakli Pavlenishvili, Chairman of the Governing Board of the United National Movement, told journalists before the start of the meeting between the opposition and European ambassadors.
As he noted, support from Georgia’s natural allies is important for the country.
“The main topic in the country is the destruction of democracy, and this is not only about the ban on political parties and politicians — this is the final destruction of the democratic process, the putting of a full stop for all those political organizations that will actually carry an anti-occupation line, that are truly oppositional, and of course everyone understands this well. This is an issue that concerns not only Georgian statehood, but also European security. From our natural allies, of course, all types of support are important, in whatever form it may be expressed, and in general we should have relations with our natural allies at a time when Ivanishvili’s regime is fighting against them,” Pavlenishvili stated.
