It is a fact that the ambassadors are occupied with managing the political process in Georgia — they cannot digest that they lost the elections, they failed to carry out a coup, and they continue this destructive activity, — Chairman of the Parliament’s Self-Government Committee Irakli Kadagishvili told journalists, commenting on the meeting of part of the opposition with the ambassadors.

According to him, there is nothing surprising in the said meeting, because “this opposition was going door to door and demanding that the country be sanctioned.”

“This needs neither translation nor interpretation. It is a fact that the ambassadors are occupied with managing the political process in Georgia. Every time their attempt has ended to the detriment of democracy and with results that destroy the opposition, that is why they continue this practice. They have no other vision or instruction. They cannot digest that they lost the elections, they failed to carry out a coup, and they continue this destructive activity. The opposition has no support whatsoever inside the country. You’re surprised by the meeting with the ambassadors, man?! This opposition was going door to door and saying: do something, sanction this country — somehow make it difficult for this country, maybe the people will come out against the government. This was the action plan of this opposition, and you’re surprised by the meeting with the ambassadors?!” Kadagishvili stated.

For information, leaders of some opposition parties met with ambassadors accredited in Georgia. The ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Germany, and France took part in the meeting.
