Giga Bokeria after the meeting with the ambassadors: There is nothing unexpected in the fact that representatives of the free world are interested in what is happening inside the country when Ivanishvili’s regime publicly declares that it is acting against the free world

There is nothing unexpected in the fact that representatives of the free world are interested in what is happening inside the country when Ivanishvili’s regime publicly declares that it is acting against the free world and is banning political choice for citizens, — Giga Bokeria, leader of the “Federalists” party, told journalists after the meeting with the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.

According to him, what is important for him is not what will happen to any particular party, but why Ivanishvili’s regime is doing this.

“Why is it showing restriction of their choice and distrust toward everyone? Because it wants to continue enriching itself at the expense of the security of Georgia’s future and the future of the children of all Georgian citizens, and to retain power in the interests of Georgia’s enemies.

Therefore, what is happening in Georgia now is not a matter of political parties — this is a matter of choice and of unprecedented distrust toward the citizens of Georgia. Toward that regime and that man and the circle of his political nonentities who every day grow richer at the expense of the future of Georgia’s citizens and retain power,” Giga Bokeria noted.

Bokeria also said that he always sees the support of the free world when a free society takes steps to defend its own interests, its own sovereignty, and its own statehood.

“I am convinced that this will be the case every time, even when we always want more from the free world — this does not change what is in our national interest. Our national interest is to have a state that is not infiltrated by the infrastructure of enemies, such as Russia and the Iran of the ayatollahs, which is what Ivanishvili’s regime is doing,” Giga Bokeria noted.

Bokeria also assessed for journalists the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which the agency expressed concern regarding the statements of European Union representatives.

In his assessment, for “Georgian Dream” interference and aggression is not “what Georgia’s enemies are doing.”

“For Ivanishvili’s regime, interference and aggression is not what Georgia’s enemies — Russia or the regime of the ayatollahs — are doing on the territory of our country. There they do not see a threat, because there they are natural allies, and in this configuration Ivanishvili’s regime sees the retention of power. This directly contradicts Georgia’s national interests.

What Russia is doing inside Georgia even beyond the occupation, what threat it represents, what Russia’s ally — the regime of the ayatollahs — is doing in our regions, which is a direct threat to any sane-minded person — we can discuss where Ivanishvili’s regime sees allies and where it sees enemies, and how this contradicts Georgia’s national interests,” Giga Bokeria noted.
