Government Administration: Irakli Kobakhidze, at the invitation of Péter Magyar, will attend the events marking the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution in Budapest

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar, will attend the events marking the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution in Budapest.

This information is being disseminated by the press service of the Government Administration.

According to them, the main anniversary event, which will be addressed by the Prime Minister of Hungary, will take place in the capital of Hungary, on the central square, on 23 October.

“The freedom that Central Europe finally regained in 1989 did not begin in 1989. Part of its history was written 33 years earlier, in the streets of Budapest. I have the honor to invite you to Budapest so that we may together commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. It will be a great honor for us to have your attendance at the event where we will honor the people whose courage still inspires our common European future today and whose legacy continues to respond to the challenges of our time,” states the official invitation letter from Péter Magyar that the Prime Minister of Georgia has received.
