Irakli Pavlenishvili: Constitutional Court judges are disregarding every single motion and making aggressive statements toward opposition figures - it appears they have been instructed to bring the proceedings to a swift conclusion

Constitutional Court judges are ignoring all motions and making highly aggressive remarks toward opposition politicians—behavior that even outshines the conduct of their colleagues in the City Court. This statement was made by Irakli Pavlenishvili, Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Movement.
He added that while they would previously grant at least one motion—if only for the sake of appearances—they have now completely abandoned any attempt to maintain a "veneer of democracy."
“It is clearly evident that they have received instructions to conclude the proceedings quickly, given that they have scheduled hearings for next week as well. Regarding the current stage of motions, it has become apparent that—unlike in the past, when they would at least make a show of granting a single motion—they have now completely abandoned any attempt at such a "veneer of democracy." The judges of the Constitutional Court are not granting any motions; furthermore, they are making highly aggressive statements toward opposition politicians—behavior that even outdoes their counterparts in the City Court. We have attended numerous proceedings at the City Court over the past few years, yet even there, one does not encounter judges who so openly display such aggression and disdain toward the opposition. It is deeply regrettable how these institutions have been captured and how they have been staffed. This, of course, is also evident in this process," stated Pavlenishvili.
As for the appointment of Giorgi Zurabashvili as the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Relations with Russia, Irakli Pavlenishvili believes that "this was an overt 'message' that Ivanishvili was making overtures to Russia on all fronts and intends to adopt decisions that are acceptable to Russia."
"This is an overt message: the process of suppressing political choice has begun, and in parallel with this, a specific special representative has been appointed. It was an overt message that Ivanishvili was making overtures to Russia across the board, and that he intends to align himself with the Kremlin on all key economic and political issues—adopting decisions that are acceptable and favorable to Russia," Pavlenishvili stated.
