Maka Bochorishvili: Given the current reality in the region and the conflicts existing in the surrounding area, Georgia’s role has become even more significant - a fact that is clearly evident to the countries of Central Asia

Considering the current reality in the region and the conflicts existing in the surrounding area, Georgia’s role has, of course, become even more significant. This is clearly evident to the countries of Central Asia. This statement was made by Maka Botchorishvili, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, following a meeting between the foreign ministers of Georgia and the countries of Central Asia.
According to Maka Botchorishvili, transport and logistics represent an area of common interest for all parties.
"Georgia plays a key role. Our significance for Central Asia is defined in many ways and across various contexts. First and foremost, we are talking about connectivity—practical links and access to both European and global markets. Today’s meeting has further demonstrated that Georgia is a vital country for Central Asian nations, serving as a gateway for them to access international markets.
Given the current regional reality—including the conflicts surrounding us—Georgia’s role has become even more significant. This is clear for the countries of Central Asia.
We discussed various sectors and areas of importance to our nations, with the aim of strengthening practical cooperation. Transport and logistics, in particular, are of common interest to all parties. Deepening these ties requires regular cooperation between institutions, which is why political dialogue is so important," noted Bochorishvili.
