Journalist Dito Chubinidze remanded in custody

The Tbilisi City Court has ordered that Dito Chubinidze, a journalist for Asaval-Dasavali, who was arrested on charges of sabotage, be held in pre-trial detention.

Judge Eka Barbakadze fully granted the Prosecutor's Office's motion.

The accused himself was present at the hearing.

For context, the General Prosecutor's Office arrested Asaval-Dasavali journalist Domenti (Dito) Chubinidze on charges of high treason—specifically, sabotage. According to the agency, "since February 2026, Dito Chubinidze has been systematically disseminating false information and disinformation through various media outlets and social platforms."
