Archil Gorduladze on the opposition rally: Once again their numerical scarcity is confirmed; the encouragement of extremism and external support already yield fewer results

Once again their numerical scarcity is confirmed; the encouragement of extremism and external support already yield fewer results because Georgian society clearly understands who the individuals united in the “collective National Movement” are, – this is how Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Gorduladze commented on the opposition rally “Georgia without Ivanishvili.”

According to him, the small number of participants in the rally is due to the legislative changes adopted by Georgian Dream, which minimize the possibility of black money flowing in from foreign countries.

“Once again their numerical scarcity is confirmed. As a result of the legislative changes we adopted, which minimize the possibility of black money flowing in from foreign countries, and, on the other hand, the transparency legislation that makes it clear what the funds coming from outside were spent on, political parties are no longer able to have externally controlled individuals organize those rallies – whether by paying money, by bribery, or by deceiving people – which often escalate into violence, as happened repeatedly in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The encouragement of extremism and external support already yield fewer results because Georgian society understands very well who the individuals united in this ‘collective National Movement’ are,” Gorduladze noted.
