Giorgi Gabunia: A total of 150 political parties have been banned in Europe! The EU’s double standards begin when one and the same legal measure is declared a defense of democracy in Spain, Poland, Ukraine, and Moldova, but a threat in Georgia

“A total of 150 political parties have been banned in Europe over recent decades!” — The EU’s double standards begin when one and the same legal measure is declared a standard for protecting democracy in Spain, Poland, Ukraine, and Moldova, but a threat to democracy in Georgia, Georgian Dream member and Chair of Parliament’s Culture Committee Giorgi Gabunia wrote on social media.

According to Gabunia, 22 political parties have been banned in Ukraine over the past three years.

“Twenty-two political parties have been banned in Ukraine over the past three years! Eight political parties have been banned in Moldova over the past three years!!! A total of 150 political parties have been banned in Europe over recent decades!

“The EU’s double standards begin when one and the same legal measure is presented as a standard for protecting democracy in Spain, Poland, Ukraine, and Moldova, without any criticism, while in Georgia it is portrayed as a threat to democracy,” Giorgi Gabunia wrote.
