European Parliament member Helmut Brandstätter: We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Paata Burchuladze, who is in custody – Europe must not turn a blind eye when democratic voices are being silenced

Freedom for Paata Burchuladze! Europe must not turn a blind eye when democratic voices are being silenced, – Austrian European Parliament member Helmut Brandstätter writes on social media.

According to him, together with three other Austrian Members of the European Parliament, he signed a statement demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Paata Burchuladze.

“Together with three other Austrian Members of the European Parliament, I have signed a joint statement in which we demand the immediate and unconditional release of the renowned opera singer Paata Burchuladze, who is currently in custody. Freedom, democracy and the rule of law must be protected by every possible means,” the MEP writes.
