Archil Gorduladze: The respondent parties' positions made their unconstitutionality even clearer and reinforced our position that banning these parties is the only way to protect democratic values

The Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee, Archil Gorduladze, states that the validity of the lawsuit was confirmed regarding the fact that "unconstitutional parties still do not distance themselves today from the crimes committed by the regime operating prior to 2012."

According to Gorduladze, none of them took advantage of the opportunity to distance themselves at least during the Constitutional Court hearing from the crimes of human torture, violence, racketeering, and trampling on private life.

"The public hearings held this week at the Constitutional Court of Georgia once again confirmed the validity of our constitutional lawsuit. The positions stated by the respondent parties in court made their unconstitutionality even clearer and reinforced our position that banning these parties is the only way to protect democratic values in Georgia. The public hearings held in court confirmed the validity of our lawsuit that unconstitutional parties still do not distance themselves today from the crimes of systemic and systematic human torture, violence, racketeering, and trampling on private life committed by the regime operating prior to 2012. Not a single unconstitutional party took advantage of the opportunity to distance itself from these crimes at least during the hearing of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.

Moreover, one of the unconstitutional parties united within the 'Collective National Movement' once again stated publicly at the court hearing that the regime operating in Georgia prior to 2012 was the best government in Georgia's history and that they are even proud of having been part of that regime's government," Gorduladze stated.
