Petr Kubernát, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia, visited the head office of JSC Energo-Pro Georgia. Energo-Pro Georgia is a member of the Czech-based Energo-Pro Group which has made significant foreign direct investments in Georgia
During a meeting with the company’s management, representatives of Energo-Pro briefed Ambassador Petr Kubernát and David Shatakishvili, an economic expert at the Czech Embassy, on the company’s operations and provided details regarding ongoing and planned projects. The Ambassador also visited central dispatch center of Energo-Pro Georgia and spoke with company employees. "We thanked the Ambassador for his visit, his interest and his support. We highly value our relationship and cooperation with the Czech Embassy. We showed the Ambassador company’s headquarters and briefed him on our current challenges, future prospects and upcoming plans," - stated Mikheil Botsvadze, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Energo-Pro Georgia Holding JSC.
The Czech-based Energo-Pro Group entered the Georgian energy market in 2006. At that time, the country’s energy infrastructure was severely depreciated and energy assets had sustained significant damage due to a lack of investment over the years.
Since the Group’s entry, investments made in the electricity distribution network, generation facilities and infrastructure rehabilitation have transformed Energo-Pro into one of the largest companies in Georgia. Currently, the group is represented in Georgia by six companies that operate in the fields of electricity distribution, supply, generation, services, and reserve capacity.
