Another individual convicted in "October 4" case, Zurab Chavchanidze, released from prison following a plea agreement

Zurab Chavchanidze, one of those convicted in connection with the October 4 protest, has left the penitentiary institution.
He was released from custody based on a plea agreement.
Under the terms of the agreement, he received a sentence consisting of one year and one month of actual imprisonment, followed by a two-year suspended sentence.
The Tbilisi City Court had originally sentenced Chavchanidze to five years in prison; however, the plea agreement was finalized by the parties during the appellate proceedings.
Additionally, Nana Sander and Irakli Chkhvirkvia—who were also convicted in the same case—were released from the penitentiary institution today. For reference, in connection with the events that took place on October 4, Zurab Chavchanidze has been charged under Article 19-222, Part 2, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia (attempted seizure of an object of strategic or special importance, committed by a group) and Article 225, Part 2 (participation in group violence)—offenses that carry a penalty of up to six years of imprisonment.
