In connection with the request to declare five opposition parties unconstitutional, the Georgian Dream team is preparing for a question-and-answer session at the Constitutional Court.

Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliament’s Procedural Issues Committee, is confident that the upcoming hearings will fully expose the "anti-constitutional nature" of the opposition.

According to him, the respondent side will attempt to "wriggle out of it" using arguments devoid of factual basis and lacking any logic—though they will ultimately fail.

"The unconstitutional nature of these five unconstitutional parties—a cascade of offenses committed against their own country, their own constitution, and their statehood—is being brought to light. Consequently, the Q&A session will further highlight the precisely unconstitutional character of these parties' actions. Representatives of these unconstitutional parties will be unable to provide any reasoned response to the questions posed by the plaintiff side. On the contrary, they will likely attempt to prolong the proceedings, seeking to evade the reality of the situation by offering responses that are substantively incomplete, illogical, and devoid of factual basis—an attempt that will, naturally, prove unsuccessful," Davit Matikashvili told Rustavi 2.

As is known, the phase involving explanations and statements regarding the lawsuit filed by Georgian Dream MPs—which seeks the banning of five opposition parties—has concluded. The Constitutional Court is now moving to the questioning stage, a process set to begin on November 9.
