The Kremlin is supposed to negotiate deal with Tskhinvali before the New Year
"After Abkhazia, Russia will obviously complete a similar deal with the region of Tskhinvali. According to Boris Chochiev, Head of the Administration of the South Ossetian President, Tskhinvali and Sokhumi plan to draft a new complex Agreement on Integration. As the Russian media outlets report, the agreement aims to reinforce military cooperation between the parties. As leader of European Democrats Paata Davitaia, declares the agreement on South Ossetia’s Integration with Russia will be similar to that of Abkhazia; however, this agreement is intended to be stricter and each point in it will be stipulated clearly,” reports the Rezonansni gazette.
“The South Ossetia and Russia are now drafting a new agreement on integration that will advance the bilateral cooperation between the parties to a new phase. These words are first of all applicable to the military sphere. “Along with our colleagues, we are elaborating a new complex agreement on Integration with Russia and this agreement is intended to be poles apart from the already existing document,” Mr. Chochiev stated in his interview with the state-run Itar-Tas. We would like to remind you that before a deal on “Integration and Strategic Partnership” was finalized between Russia and Abkhazia, de-facto government of the occupied Tskhinvali expressed its overt desire to complete a more profound and all-embracing agreement with Russia that would have resulted in their further integration with it. As Paata Davitaia claims, new agreement between Russia and South Ossetia will be negotiated before the New Year,” says the article.
“We faced some trouble in Abkhazia, while in the region of Tskhinvali this process is running smoothly. Therefore, our key mission and prime objective was to hammer out a solution to the issue of Abkhazia. Fortunately, we have sorted out the mess in Abkhazia; as for Tskhinvali, this region is far from being an excruciating headache for Russia unlike Abkhazia. After this region they will turn to Ossetia. Thus, plans have been laid out beforehand. It does not matter what kind of an agreement they will sew up with Tskhinvali. Clearly tough, this agreement will be similar to the already completed deal with Abkhazia. It is expected to be stricter though, with its absolutely clearly formulated articles,” says the article.
“This is not like throwing a bone to someone or patting a child on the head for good behavior. Russia is not even trying to make us comply with its instructions with some tantalizing promises. This country has already drawn up a well though out strategic plan and according to this plan it must exert full control on Georgia. Otherwise, it will fail to realize its ambitious dream of Soviet Glory that is the Eurasian Union. Without Georgia this union does not have a future – this is an indisputable fact and, obviously, Russia knows this better than the rest of the world. It makes no difference what kind of steps we will take, Russia will take arbitrary steps under any circumstances and will keep pursuing its interests whatever it takes,” concludes Davitaia.
“Tchikaidze is covering for the criminals. We will not let the acting authorities get off scot-free!”
"We are literally furious; the only thing that we have implored them to do is right the wrongs and repair our crippled justice. 70 percent of the present authorities stood with us before they took up the reigns of the country. However, after perching on the high posts they lost interest in everything and turned their backs on us. Their behavior does not really speak well of them. Hundreds of families who lost their loved ones under the previous corrupt government are over the edge; they long to find out whether or not justice will be restored in the country. All our requests have fallen on deaf ears so far. Their lax attitude is literally driving us crazy,” states Yuri Vazagashvili in his interview with the Alia gazette.
“My lawyer and I have visited the Prosecutor’s Office, which has become absolutely functionless. I have serious complaints for their officials who are permanently on the make and pillage their own people. Since we have left nothing left but to cry over our crudest mistake of doing everything in our power to put these nonentities into power, the only thing that we can do now is to combine our efforts, stand together and try to draw some positive changes in our lives. We have been bitterly mistaken; we have been disgracefully deceived. We have given a vote of confidence to the government that did not deserve it,” maintains Mr. Vazagashvili.
“Do you want me to tell you who is covering for the wrongdoers? I can present you with strong evidence corroborating my words: Tchikaidze is covering for the criminals today. I have already presented them with enough evidence, in vain though. I’ve bellowed across the country that today our country has neither a left nor right-wing party. Everyone has turned a deaf ear and blind eye to me though,” says the respondent.
“How can we voice even a single word of support for those people who are within the coalition today? They must be held accountable under any circumstances. When they needed to they used my family’s tragedy to usurp the power! And what now? Today they are as dumb as oysters! They will not get away with all this though. Is this some kind of a vicious circle?! How can office and power strip people of their humanity and make them deaf to plights of their fellow men?!
I think that the present authorities are even worse than the previous mendacious and corrupt top officials. Under the nationals, we at least knew who our foes were and who our supporters. As for the acting politicians, they stabbed their own people in the back and disgracefully betrayed them. How can they go on with their lives after this?! We will not allow them to enjoy life though. We will gather outside the Parliament, the Chancellery and will get hold of the acting PM too,” concludes the respondent.
“Republicans do not plan to abandon the Coalition”
“We are the representatives of the Georgian Dream Coalition. Nothing special is happening within the body today. We do not strain to sweep votes; we pursue our principles. I want everyone to know the fact that the coalition is manned with the people with different kinds of principles and ideology does not mean that something surprising is happening within the body today. Some think that the coalition is a chaotic mix of voices; however, this does not mean that the coalition will necessarily fall to pieces. As for us, leaving the coalition does not fall within our plans at this point in time. One core principle has joined us and this is the principle of democracy that automatically implies difference in opinions,” declares one of the leaders of the majority, Tina Khidasheli, in his interview with the Rezonansni gazette.
“We have never informed any media outlet or any specific inpidual that we were going to withdraw ourselves from the Coalition. Thus, the circulating rumors are not credible; they are spread by some axe grinding journalists purposefully. Along with them, some political parties are also deliberately disseminating similar rumors. But this is nothing new. Any party outside the coalition, naturally, aims to debilitate it,” maintains the respondent.
To the remark that once Free Democrats claimed the same, the respondent states:
“So many people with so many opinions, we are entitled to hold different types of views. I cannot speak for others; however, I assure you that abandoning the body does not really fall into our plans today.”
