Ketevan Tsikhelashvili - Closure of the checkpoint creates more problems for population

According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, closure of the checkpoint by the de-facto South Ossetian authorities creates more problems for the population.
According to Tsikhelashvili, the mentioned checkpoint is vitally important for the Tskhinvali population.
"It's a very sad and bad practice when the only checkpoint is closed with regard to various dates, as it enables people to communicate with each other and is vitally important for the Tskhinvali region and its population first of all. This practice has taken place since 2008. We are sure that this checkpoint will be opened, it is impossible to shut down it for a long time, but even the temporary closure creates additional problems for the local population, which has problems in freedom of movement," said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
From 22 November to 24 November, the occupied region of South Ossetia will close the so-called border with the rest of Georgia with regard to the day of bravery and public unity.
