Some forces are trying to involve the church in political processes and demonstrate its support for a particular party, - reads the statement of the Patriarchate.
The Patriarchate responded to the letter spread in the social network, saying that it does not belong to the Catholicos-Patriarchate.
According to the statemnet, the letter entitled "The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia addresses the Georgian Dream”, which lists some of the demands to the government, does not belong to the Catholicos-Patriarchate and its author is a liar.
“Generally, certain forces are trying to involve the Church in political processes and demonstrate its support to a particular party. There are often cases when they manipulate with certain clergymen’s statements to achieve this goal.
The Church is a unifying force of the nation, while these unfortunate actions are an attempt to split the country; that’s why we once again call on the clergymen to refrain from such actions”, reads the statement.
