Two persons detained for attacking Tako Charkviani and his husband fined GEL 700
A trial of the three persons accused of attacking publicist Tako Charkviani and his husband was held in the Kutaisi City Court yesterday. All three of them were detained under administrative procedure.
According to the decision of the judge, Giorgi Kervalishvili and Davit Baidarashvili were fined GEL 700, while Davit Machavariani's guilt could be not proved.
The detainees claim they did not start the fight at the airport, but just wanted to defuse the conflict. They do not know what the cause of the conflict was.
They rule out persecution on political grounds. They are going to appeal against the court’s decision.
The trial of the person detained under criminal procedure has not yet been held.
