A patrol police officer has been stabbed in the line of duty in village Gezati, Abasha Municipality of Samegrelo region. He has been transferred to Kutaisi hospital. Reportedly, another patrol police office is also slightly wounded.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia confirmed the fact and said that an investigation is in progress under Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving an intentional infliction of grave injury.
