Finance Minister denies reports about abolition of PM’s reserve fund

According to Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani, at this stage, the Prime Minister's reserve fund is not planned to be annulled. However, he noted that the form of functioning of reserve funds was being considered in general.

"Nothing like this is planned at this stage. We are just discussing how the reserve funds should function,"said the Minister.

As for the abolition of the presidential reserve fund, the Minister of Finance stated that the above-mentioned was conditioned by the reduced authority of a president under the new Constitution.

"We decided that the presidential reserve fund should not function in the given form. Consultations are underway about the adequate form of the fund. Today is too early to talk about it," said Machavariani.
