A special working group to study the challenges posed by disinformation and propaganda was set up under in Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia,- the Parliament said on Tuesday.
The new initiative regarding setting up the group was presented by Deputy Chair of Foreign Relations Committee Nino Goguadze.
According to MP Goguadze, in the coming months the group will study the extent of the challenge posed by propaganda across the country, efforts made by various governmental and non-governmental actors and would offer recommendations to the executive branch of the government.
Nino Goguadze stressed that the effort would particularly target the Russian propaganda.
“The thematic group will cooperate with the organizations working on and conducting research on Russian propaganda and misinformation,” MP Goguadze said.
