Archil Talakvadze: Anaklia Port is a strategic project and the government will, of course, will remain the main ally of the project

“The Anaklia Port is a strategic project initiated by the state. The government has done a lot for the success of this project and of course it will remain the main ally of the project”, - MP Archil Talakvadze told reporters.

When asked about what would be his response to the opposition's opinion that Anaklia port project was artificially hindered due to Russia's interest, Talakvadze replied by saying:

"Our answer is that we have a strong strategic partnership with the United States and the European Union and support for us has been increased. Russia has a global interest, including geopolitical interest, in this region. It has occupied our territories and of course, Russia's attempt is to hamper Georgia's development not only economically, but in other directions as well. The main thing is that the whole society be focused on what our country needs," Talakvadze said.
