The Parliament’s hall of plenary sessions has been named after first President Zviad Gamsakhurdia.
The Parliament’s Bureau considered the proposal of Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, at today's sitting and unanimously supported it.
"This proposal is substantiated. Restoration of Georgia’s independence 28 years ago was announced in the hall of plenary sessions by the first president, the then chairman of parliament. Naming the hall after Zviad Gamsakhurdia would be a sign of respect for that independence act and the first president of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia," said Irakli Kobakhidze at the bureau sitting.
