Death toll in fiery Russian plane crash climbs to 41

41 people, including two children, died Sunday when a Russian plane burst into flames during a dramatic emergency landing, officials said.

The Aeroflot Sukhoi SSJ100, also called the Superjet, bounced onto the runway of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.

The jet, carrying 73 passengers and five crew members, had taken off from the airport moments before, issued a distress signal and turned around.

Reportedly, it attempted an emergency landing, but did not succeed the first time, and on the second time, the landing gear hit the ground and it caught fire.
