Londa Toloraia elected as state inspector

Parliament has today elected Londa Toloraia as a state inspector. 82 lawmakers voted in favor of Toloraia’s candidacy, while 21 were against. 7 MPs voted in favor of her rival - Valeri Lomuashvili.

Londa Toloraia has been elected for a term of 6 years.

The election of the State Inspector was held through direct voting. The State Institute's Office is an independent investigative mechanism tasked with investigating the crimes committed by law enforcers. The State Institute's Office will be launched from July 1 under the Personal Data Protection Inspector's Office.
