All measures of restraint against Nika Melia, including wearing of electronic bracelet, remain in force

The Tbilisi City Court rejected the motion of Nika Melia, who was demanding abolition of Melia's measure of restraint or its replacement by another type of measure of restraint - personal surety.

6 MPs of the United National Movement faction expressed readiness to stand surety for Nika Melia.

However, according to the court ruling, all measures of restraint against Nika Melia, including the wearing of an electronic bracelet, remain in force.

As Judge Giorgi Keratishvili stated at the trial, the risks existing during the first trial remain the same. According to the judge, defendant Nika Melia did not follow the order at today's trial, disobeyed the judge's call to stop making noise, which made "personal surety powerless."

Defendant Nika Melia himself was not present at the trial because as he was expelled from the courtroom.
