There is no need for snap elections in the country. There is no crisis, Kakha Kaladze, Secretary General of the Georgian Dream ruling party, told reporters today.

Kaladze insists the issue of proportional elections is the reason for trying to destabilize the country. Replying to the accusations from the opposition that the “Georgian Dream” failed to pass promised constitutional amendment, because it scared of losing the elections, Kakha Kaladze said that the “Georgian Dream” is the “only real power in the country, which has the support of the public and has the opportunity to win elections”.

Kaladze emphasized he is one of the supporters of the proportional electoral system, but “a vast majority of the lawmakers voted against the planned amendments.”
