After the Council of Europe on Friday suspended Russia’s rights of representation, the country’s deputy chairman of the Security Council said this was a good opportunity to restore the death penalty for the most severe crimes.

According to him, Russia doesn't really need diplomatic ties with the West after it imposed sanctions on Moscow over what he called Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

Medvedev said it was time to "padlock the embassies."

According to him, said Moscow will continue its operation in Ukraine until it achieves goals defined by President Vladimir Putin.
