Mamuka Khazaradze: "Borjomi" has suspended production, the reason is that sanctioned Russian "Alpha Group" is a shareholder in the structure of the company - the state should buy the shares of "Borjomi" company

According to Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the Lelo party, the state should buy the shares of the "Borjomi" company from the "Alpha Group", and then sell them to Georgian citizens through the Tbilisi Stock Exchange. Mamuka Khazaradze writes about this on his Facebook page, responding to the statement of the company "IDS Borjomi Georgia".

""Borjomi" has suspended production. Borjomi brand, its future, exports, thousands of jobs, budget revenues are at stake. The reason is that sanctioned Russian "Alpha Group" is a shareholder in the structure of the company.

Badri Patarkatsishvili's family and the current manager of Imedi TV sold the controlling share in "Borjomi" to "Alpha Group" in 2013. Solution:

The state must buy the shares of "Borjomi" company from "Alpha Group", and then sell them to Georgian citizens through the Tbilisi Stock Exchange.

Only with such steps it is possible to overcome the crisis and at the same time bring a great stimulus to the formation of the capital market," wrote Mamuka Khazaradze.

For reference, the company "IDS Borjomi Georgia" says that it is forced to temporarily suspend the production process in both Borjomi bottling factories from April 29 this year. According to the statement, the reason for this is the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine.
