Irakli Gharibashvili: The official position of our country regarding the restrictive measures imposed on Russia is in full compliance with the position of international community

The official position of our country regarding the restrictive measures imposed on Russia is in full compliance with the position of international community, Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said in the Parliament.

According to the head of Government, from 2014 Georgia has joined the EU restrictive measures against Crimea and Sevastopol.

"This year, on February 28, Georgia joined the EU restrictive measures against Donetsk and Luhansk. Many countries have similar positions on sanctions. In my letter I have explained in detail all the measures that our Gvernment is taking, and I would also like to tell you that, in general, I have repeatedly stated that our Government's position on sanctions is dictated, of course, by our national interests. Our main task should be to protect the interests of our citizens first and foremost and to protect the interests of our state," Irakli Gharibashvili said.
