Wearing masks not to be mandatory in public transport from June 20

From June 20, the use of masks in public transport will no longer be mandatory. The decision was made by the Government of Georgia on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and specialists, taking into account the stable epidemiological situation in the country.

According to Tamar Gabunia, Deputy Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, the use of masks remains mandatory in medical institutions.

"From June 20 it will no longer be mandatory to use a mask in public transport. However, wearing a mask remains recommended for people who have chronic diseases. The use of masks will remain mandatory only in medical institutions," Tamar Gabunia said.
