President: We can't be the only country in the world that argues in this tone with the European Parliament, with the American Ambassador, with other ambassadors

We can't be the only country in the world that argues in this tone with the European Parliament, with the American Ambassador, with other ambassadors... I have not seen any Prime Minister writing to the President of the Commission, requesting to distance herself from the European Parliament, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said on the Public Broadcaster.

"I have not heard such a thing anywhere, I had 40 years of diplomatic experience, but I have not seen such rules. I have not seen a Prime Minister writing (first of all, this means that we don't understand anything about the institutions) to the President of the Commission requesting to distance herself from the European Parliament. It had already distanced itself, as the European Council used different terminology and did not transfer all the terms included in the resolution of the European Parliament," said Salome Zurabishvili.

When asked if the PM’s address to Ursula von der Leyen was excessive, the President replied that "there are things in diplomacy, there is relationship between institutions – the Commission will not distance itself from the European Parliament".
