Hungary introduces simplified employment mechanism for Georgian citizens

Georgian citizens, who have deficient professions defined by the Hungarian Government, will have the opportunity to get employed in Hungary.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hungarian Government enlisted Georgia among countries whose citizens will have the opportunity to obtain a work permit in Hungary in a simplified manner for a specified period of time. The above was announced at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Georgia and Hungary, which was held within the framework of the working visit of Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili to Budapest.

As Ilia Darchiashvili stated, introducing a simplified employment mechanism for Georgian citizens in the most demanding sectors of Hungary is one of the main topics of the bilateral agenda.

"I am glad to be in Hungary on my first visit as Minister of Foreign Affairs and I thank my counterpart for his warm hospitality.

Today's meeting gave us an excellent opportunity to continue a fruitful dialogue and to discuss various areas of cooperation.

I am glad that introducing a simplified employment mechanism for Georgian citizens in the most demanding sectors of Hungary is one of the main topics of our bilateral agenda. I thank the Hungarian partners for their readiness to enlist Georgia as a country benefiting from the simplified procedure. This gesture is another indication of Hungary's unwavering support to our country. I hope that the relevant legislative changes will be completed in the near future," said the Minister.

In addition, according to the Minister, Georgia's integration into the European Union was one of the main topics of the conversation.

“The recognition of the European perspective of Georgia is a historic fact, by which the European Union confirmed that Georgia is a European state and that it will become a member of the European Union. This is a recognition of the progress achieved over the years, as well as the high level of integration between Georgia and the European Union," the Minister noted.
